eID Information

All K-State faculty, staff, and students have an eID. However, some K-Staters have been assigned an additional eID that is specific to their department. Make sure that when you sign onto URCO Online, you are using your official K-State eID and not your departmental eID.

What is a K-State eID?
eID is short for "electronic ID". It's the name for your central computer ID that serves as your primary "electronic identity" at K-State. The concept is "one eID, one password" for each K-State student, faculty, staff, alumnus, and guest. There's a limit of one eID per person.
More importantly, your eID gives you access to many K-State resources -- including e-mail, a personal webpage, access to the Digital Library, free antivirus software, and more. Students can use it to access their student information in KATS and to vote online. K-State employees can use it to access their personnel information.

Example of an eID
The text before the @ symbol in your K-State email is your eID. For example, our office has an email of comply@ksu.edu. In this particular instance, comply is the eID. Make sure when asked to enter your eID you don't enter your entire email address.

How do I get an eID?
If you're unsure whether you've already been assigned an eID, contact the IT Help Desk for information. New K-Staters must register and select an eID.
